Indonesia HSC

One week of service in Jakarta with Hww Indonesia, followed by the All Asia YoPros Conference!
Home to an ever growing population of over 10 million people, Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and the largest city in Southeast Asia. HOPE worldwide
Indonesia began in 1994 with a group of men and women who wanted to help meet the growing needs of their country. Over the past 23 years, there have been three main aspects to HOPE worldwide Indonesia: teaching (education facilities & training centers), healing (orphanages & health support) and serving (disaster relief & youth volunteerism). One successful teaching program is called “Saturday Academy” which runs every week, working with local schools to help teach English and other valuable skills to underprivileged children in low income areas of Jakarta.

This HOPE Singles Corps (HSC) will serve a community in North Jakarta, Tanah Merah. Together we will work alongside a community center used for children to study and receive educational support. HOPEworldwide also conducts parenting and financial literacy classes in this community center. It is a place where many people in this community come to gather and pray. Join us on this HSC to enjoy the best of both worlds: incredible fellowship from disciples all over Asia and growing your heart of compassion for the poor.
Participants will then end the HSC by joining the YoPros Asia conference on the weekend of 12th-14th of July. Young professionals and singles will come together from Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, India (and Indonesia, of course) to learn from one another about building healthy and inspiring young professional communities! There will be panel discussions, practicals for building ministries of young adults, as well as great times of fellowship and meeting new people. Join us in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2019!
