1. Engage with neighbors experiencing homelessness in ways that are respectful and mutually beneficial.  Watch HOPE worldwide’s Volunteer Webinar, “What To Do When Someone Asks You for Money on the Street” and check out this tip sheet for great ideas and inspiration.

2. Collect items to support neighbors who are in need of a little help – and partner with to organizations to help distribute in a way which honors your neighbors.  Watch HOPE worldwide’s Volunteer Webinar, “How to Honor Your Neighbor’s Dignity When Donating” for more on this and check out our tip sheet on planning a Community Christmas Store here. If you are aware of new neighbors from Afghanistan or other countries, be a good neighbor and reach out directly to welcome them and see if you can be of support. Or consider teaming up with some friends and a local community organization and starting an English Conversation Club.

3. Address local food insecurity – check out this tip sheet for great ideas on how to do this, either by yourself or with a group.
