Two weeks “on top of the world” serving the HOPEww school and vocational training center in week 1 and the new Center of HOPE in Chhaimale in week 2, a program started in a village two hours outside of Kathmandu after the 2015 earthquake. You will teach elementary school children, help renovate and beautify the Kathmandu school and the Chhaimale Center of HOPE, run computer classes for young people, reach out to the community, teach health and hygiene lessons, and train the villagers in the use of water filters.
This will be our 14th Volunteer Corps in one of our most sustainable programs worldwide.
HOPEww has worked in Kathmandu for 28 years, and several teachers are former students! You will learn a lot from this fantastic program and from the local culture. Feel free to stay a few extra days (or come early before the trip) to explore the beauty of this marvelous country!
