Hope Worldwide. Bringing Hope. Changing Lives.

Northern California HVC

What?

Northern California HOPE worldwide Volunteer Corps 2020

Join us in serving children in Butte County, an area devastated by the massive Paradise Fire. Through SPARK Academy, we will provide normalcy for these children and a chance to process emotions, losses, struggles, and build confidence through art-based and play (sports) therapy.

The SPARK Academy program has been successfully implemented by HOPE worldwide in places affected by disasters, such as Houston after Hurricane Harvey. It provides fun activities for children who have experienced loss through a natural disaster.

Why?

The Paradise Fire in November 2018 was one of the deadliest wildfires in the United States, leading to the loss of 86 lives, 18,000 structures, and 14,000 homes. Many children affected by these fires are now experiencing fears of returning wildfires and some families are still trying to recuperate.
