Hope Worldwide. Bringing Hope. Changing Lives.

Philippines (Manila) Volunteer Corps

(December 18-December 31)

What?

Manila is the capital of the Philippines. It is a sprawling city where 35% of the population lives in poverty. HOPEww Philippines runs two Centers of HOPE in the two largest of those populations, Baseco and Payatas. The volunteers will engage with the communities in those areas, as well as with the

Laguna Center of HOPE on the outskirts of Manila.

The participants will support the following programs: education, health and nutrition (we would love to have a few medical professionals on the trip), child protection and parent support, livelihood (small businesses), house repairs, and the building of a vertical garden.

The group will also spend Christmas in typical joyful Filipino style!

Why?

Many of the population live in impoverished communities in need of nutritional & medical care.
