HSC Testimony – Haiti 2015 By DeZavier Dewberry

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭45‬ NIV)

Going to HSC Haiti was an absolute dream come true. For years, I always wanted to go and by the grace of God I was able to experience this amazing mission trip back in March 2015. I’ve learned so much and I’m happy to share it with you.I attended HSC for one reason: to serve. I wanted to give my heart to the people of Haiti and to serve the orphaned children. I wanted to witness the poverty, I wanted to witness the worship of the disciples, and I wanted to be an extension of love and encouragement. Since our Haiti trip, I have learned so much along with what it means to truly be a servant. A couple of things I learned was contentment: the joy and smiles on those who are stricken with poverty was a beautiful sight to behold. How could I not be content with all that I have?; gratitude: being grateful for what God has given to me, being thankful always regardless of my situation or troubles. To this day, I am still impacted by Haiti and still encouraged by the disciples who gave much to me from what little they had.
