There are literally thousands of stories of lives impacted and changed around the world because of your generosity this year.
Today, we want to focus on the incredible growth and progress of the HOPEww programs in Africa, especially in Kenya. In this interview with HOPEww Kenya Executive Director Dr. Julius Nguku and Development Officer Tabitha Muia, they describe many of the amazing ways the work in Kenya has been growing.
HOPE worldwide Kenya helps hundreds of thousands of people each year with programs that meet various needs, including:
The D.R.E.A.M.S. program supports over 100,000 girls and young women ages 9-24 living in informal settlements in Nairobi. Many young women who have participated in the program have been able to find employment, and some have even graduated to become HOPEww Volunteers and Staff in Kenya.
HOPEww Kenya also won an award for their volunteer work in partnership with the HOPE Volunteer Corps (HVC). The "Volunteer Involving Organization of the Year Award" was presented to HOPEww Kenya by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Volunteer Involving Organizations Society to recognize the HVC service done at Modern Green Primary School, Embu.
Thanks to your support this past year, we were able to equip and mobilize thousands of volunteers, respond to disasters, assist under-resourced communities, and impact over 500,000 people in Africa and over one million people globally. Thank you for watching this short video and responding with continued generosity.
