Bangladesh is a nation with great potential. It is a densely populated country with 34% percent of the total population under the age of 15. In 2014, the financial investment firm of Goldman Saks cited Bangladesh as one of the “Next Top 11 Emerging Markets.” Despite this promising forecast for the future, that same year the United Nations reported that 43% of the Bangladesh population are still living below the international poverty line on less than $1.25 per day.
The opportunity is greater than ever for the next generation to rise out of poverty and look with hope to the future. The key to unlocking their dreams is the education to pursue them. HOPE worldwide
Bangladesh is partnering with families and corporations to instill the love of learning in young children and encourage them to continue their studies.
One of the schools that HOPE worldwide
Bangladesh manages is The Pepkor Europe School of Hope, in partnership with Pepkor Europe. Presently, 77 boys and 73 girls – most from families living below the poverty line are benefiting. Below are a few highlights from January 2018.
