HOPE worldwide • September 10, 2020

It is our great pleasure to welcome Ben Barnett to the Executive Leadership Team as Chief Evangelist for HOPE worldwide . Ben will work closely with the Executive Leadership team of President Dave Malutinok and Chief Financial Officer Keith Rose. This team will make collaborative decisions with great respect for the roles, experience and expertise of each person.

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Ben served as an officer in the U.S. Army. He spent three years working in the pharmaceutical industry before becoming a full-time Evangelist in Atlanta, where he has worked for 26 years.

Ben has always been a passionate learner, and his educational pursuits have furthered his skill in working with so many people as a minister of the Gospel. He holds a Master’s in Divinity (MDiv) and a Doctorate in Ministry (DMin) from the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. He has used his talents to engage and serve a diverse range of communities around the world. Devoted to the ministry of healing and reconciliation, Ben has also completed Clinical Pastoral Education, served as chaplain intern for the Atlanta Veterans Medical Center, taught as an Adjunct Professor at the McAfee School of Theology, and worked as an Anger Management Instructor for Turning Point Family Counseling Services.

Over the past 26 years, Ben has volunteered his time and effort with HOPE worldwide Atlanta in various roles, ranging from servant to Advisory Board Member. Married to his high school sweetheart, Tammi, for almost 30 years, Ben is a loving father to three children: daughter Peyton (26), son, Trey (24), and daughter, Jordan (22). Ben’s spiritual leadership and proven work of service to those in need will allow him to continue making an impact as part of the HOPE worldwide executive team.

As Chief Evangelist, Ben will collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to spearhead the spiritual direction of HOPE worldwide . He will also continue the work of building deep and fruitful relationships with ICOC leaders and members worldwide as partners in our work. The Board of Directors will continue to oversee the work of HOPE worldwide and provide support for the organization. Reese Neyland, who has been serving as the Interim Chief Evangelist, will be working closely with Ben to ensure a smooth transition. Ben’s unique combination of personal integrity, committed work ethic and deep faith qualify him for this new role. HOPE worldwide is thrilled he joins us as a partner in global service.

Sincerely,
HOPE worldwide
