Fundraising tips from the best! Day 4: Adriana Tabile
, from Seattle!
Adriana served on the Philippines Volunteer Corps twice. She managed to raise the full amount both times (program fee plus flights) through her efforts! I personally saw her cook and sell lumpia for months before the trip (she is a GREAT cook!).This is what she had to share:
"Both times I participated, I made a jar for my Volunteer Corps funds. When I worked, I would make sure I put money in the jar. Extra coins lying around would go straight into that jar. Every cent counts in the end.
I did a lot of prayer as well to open up opportunities for me to fund-raise. Also, if people are having a hard time with money, don't be afraid to ask for help. People are willing to support your heart to serve!
I raised most of my funds through rolling lumpia (Filipino snack) and then some through GoFundMe. I was able to have enough for both the registration and the airfare so about $3000 total both years.
I also cut out some regular things people usually do. You don’t have to pay for Starbucks every day if you can make coffee at home!"
