UPDATE: 11.19.20
Our brothers and sisters are still being affected during this hurricane season. Recently, Category 4 Hurricane Iota made landfall and continued to cause more damage to communities already trying to recover from the existing flooding. The San Pedro Airport in Honduras is completely under water along with many other buildings. HOPEww and its partners in Central America are working to provide immediate relief and support. Our church partners are using their building as shelter to house families who recently lost their homes from Hurricane Eta just two weeks ago. Thank you for your generous support and prayers for our brothers and sisters who have been affected by recent disasters.
ALERT: A major donor is now offering to match contributions in support of Hurricane Relief (Eta and Iota) for Central America - up to $10,000...Donate now and double your donation today!

The powerful Category 4 Hurricane Eta made landfall on Nicaragua’s Atlantic Coast and then stormed into Honduras. Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding and mudslides in Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize. HOPE worldwide’s Global Disaster Response team met with church partners and HOPEww leaders in Central American to discuss support for the community.
San Pedro Sula, Honduras was hit especially hard by Hurricane Eta. Hector Cruz, Lead Evangelist of the San Pedro Sula Church of Christ, reported that 28 households with 62 church members and their 168 extended family members sustained heavy damage to their homes. HOPE worldwide
Honduras and the San Pedro Sula Church have distributed food and are providing shelter for several families in the church building and in the surrounding communities.
Many families are still waiting to be rescued from high water in several areas in and around San Pedro Sula. There are also brothers and sisters in the Camayagua Church of Christ as well as families in San Salvador, El Salvador who also received damage to their homes from Hurricane Eta.
HOPE worldwide
has already sent funds for immediate relief and is working with partners in Central America to further assess damage and additional support.
