The sustainable impact of Volunteer Corps
A lasting partnership to ensure a thriving community
This past December, over 40 volunteers of all ages, coming from around the world, joined together to spend the most memorable Christmas serving a Maori community in Auckland, New Zealand.
One of the projects they worked on consisted in building a greenhouse in order for the community to grow their own food, thus leading to a healthier lifestyle.
The Volunteer Corps did most of the groundwork, sometimes working in the rain, mud & scorching sun, all the while building a wonderful partnership with the Maori community as well as the Auckland Church of Christ. Five months later, with the help of the church members, the greenhouse is complete!
We look forward to a continued partnership with the Papatuanuku Kokiri Marae.
On Volunteer Corps, we do not simply show up for two weeks. We build partnerships, assisting already existing long-term programs run by local communities. These programs are in place before we come, and they continue long after we leave. We are there to provide extra help and to build a family.
What a wonderful way to spend Christmas! What are your plans for this coming December? We have five Volunteer Corps open to all generations located in the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Nepal, Haiti, and Zambia.
