HOPE worldwide Chapters are hard at work making cover-up masks for medical professionals. As COVID-19 continues to deplete the personal protective equipment stock of medical facilities around the world, volunteers are taking safe action. Dwight Goins and his daughter are lending a hand by making masks for first responders. (Reported for the NBC4 News.) Michelle Johnston (pictured below) from the HOPE worldwide Pioneer Valley Chapter is one of many making homemade masks for healthcare professionals to address this dangerous equipment shortage. So far this Chapter has made over 300 masks. According to the CDC , these homemade masks can be used as covers for professional-grade N95 masks or on their own as a last resort. More Chapters, including LA, Inland Empire and Phoenix, are also using their talents to work from home in this effort to support the doctors and nurses on the front lines.
