Under Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO) period, many people cannot work. They are losing their jobs and livelihood. Among these people are families with young children already living near the poverty level and senior citizens who live alone. Deciding that the best way to meet immediate need was to deliver groceries and other necessary household goods to Malaysia’s vulnerable citizens, members of HOPE worldwide ’s staff in Malaysia set to work. They quickly raised funds through Christians in the church and members of the public to support their efforts, and the generosity had immediate results. Staff members delivered food and other goods to 200 families in need. HOPE worldwide in Malaysia remains dedicated to protecting families and senior citizens in need against food insecurity because of loss of income during this tense and unstable time.
